New poem: new extension to the greenygrey philosophy!

Thanks for all your visits, with the bandwidth world record going this week as predicted. Unique visitors has also passed the 300 barrier, so cheers and welcome to you all.

I've received the Greenygrey's first US virtual travel report of the week, and it will have its Friday's slot as usual. It gave me a bit of a ticking off for not giving the new ITV Sunday night documentary Martin Clunes: A Man and his Dogs a mention, as it gave some good info about how close all dogs are to wolves, and had some wolves being friendly to humans as the wolf was with me in the photo below.

Today's blog features a bit of a free verse poem I wrote while looking out at a greenygrey day last week. I suppose that it is really an extension of my idea to use green vegetation to brighten up grey days. In the same way, if you're bored with the same horizons you see every day, then clouds often provide the opportunity to imagine them in other ways: such as when clouds look like great mountain ranges rising up from the earth, trees or even buildings.

There are limits to your vision, but not to your imagination.

Mountain Clouds of the Green Horizon

I climbed a mountain this morning,
one among a great range,
spreading across the green horizon,
it was like opening a page,
to another chapter in my life,
a new beginning,
a higher level of consciousness,
into the zone once again.

I never even broke sweat,
as I left the green trees
and climbed up the grey edges,
or even when I reached the cold white
upper reaches of the steep incline.

Then I strolled along a plateau,
enjoying the easy hiking,
before making the final ascent,
to the summit of the mountain cloud.

As I sat on the mountain,
enjoying the view,
I felt no cold or weariness,
or physical pains at all.

But neither did I feel achievement,
of the endurance kind at least,
because I was still sat at my window,
and the mountains were only in my mind;
created out of distant clouds
pluming above the horizon,
letting me imagine they were solid rock,
but really they were high in the sky,
and just a trick of the eye.

Writing and research are like organic nutrition for knowledge acquisition

My love of writing is inspired by a thirst for knowledge, progression, equality and creativity.
It is a complex passion: rational, yet unexplainable.
I have a desire to write, I am trained to research, I just need markets.

I look forward to hearing from you

During eleven years of further education I learned to research, write and proofread large amounts of text to deadlines; and present material both visually and verbally. After university I focused on improving my creative writing and IT knowledge; with an ambition of becoming self-sufficient as a freelance writer and researcher.
I am now confident of providing a number of services to a satisfactory level: from blogging or providing consultancy on a variety of topics; public speaking to proofreading; and individual ideas or strategies to full-scale book research and writing.

A GreenyGrey world

For me, the concept of the GreenyGrey encapsulates the dominant natural colours of the British landscape, with the land predominantly green, and the mountains, rivers, sea and sky usually grey.
