A Poem for Chelsy Davy, fellow Leeds Chav
Here’s a Write Angle poem I did for the Writelink website a few months ago. It seems appropriate to think back to the old days of hardship now, with energy and food price increases sending the UK back into a time of struggle for many. More about that tomorrow!
Terraced Streets
Smoke.
Billowing.
From tawny
chimney pots.
On slate roofs,
pigeons perched,
cooing merrily-on-
high. Gutter divides
roof from house; four
windows, door and wall.
Pebble-dash or red-brick,
with clothes-line in-between.
